Q & A

What's the "Wells Street Bridge"?

Fort Wayne was originally built in 1794 where three rivers meet. The city's oldest iron bridge was first built here in 1859 to connect northern neighborhoods to downtown. The current bridge was built in 1884 and is recognized as one of the oldest, heaviest, and most decorated iron bridges from this era to still survive, now as a pedestrian walkway. Promenade Park is part of Ft Wayne's revitalization along the rivers and was opened in 2019. The wedding will be held on the bridge and the reception in the nearby pavilion.

If I'm coming in from out of town, where should I stay?

The Bradley is the closest (0.2mi/4min walk), but as a newer boutique hotel, also the most expensive ($194 nightly that weekend when I checked). The Hilton at the Grand Wayne Center (0.6mi/13min walk) is the oldest and cheapest ($118/night currently). Hampton Inn ($146/night) and the Courtyard ($172) near the Grand Wayne Center and Parkview Field are also close options (0.6mi/14min walk). These hotels have links on the Travel tab.

Where should I park?

On the weekends, street parking along S Harrison and W Superior is free. There is a parking garage on S Harrison across from Promenade Park, but there are fees at all times.
